Project Ready Mentor Program

Helping middle school students prepare for college, careers, and life through academic support, leadership development, and community awareness.

The Achievement Matters! Project Ready Mentor Program empowers Wilmington youth to achieve academic success and build critical skills for post-secondary pathways. Through in-school, after-school, and community-based programming, students engage in high school preparation, career exploration, and service-learning activities that strengthen literacy, numeracy, self-confidence, and civic engagement.

  • In 2024, the program emphasized financial and digital literacy, 21st-century skills, and STEAM career exploration. Highlights included:
  • Guest speakers from EPAM and DuPont sharing insights into STEAM professions
  • HBCU Exploration Day, introducing students to Historically Black Colleges and Universities
  • Youth Empowerment Day, focused on leadership and community engagement

These initiatives provided students with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration to pursue their academic and career goals. The program proudly achieved a 100% grade achievement rate in 2024.
